If you really look into sustainability and survival for that matter, you will find that community (as opposed to isolation) renders your best chance of survival. Building community involves a level of giving, being willing to help a friend or neighbor. And it just makes you a better person. Often times, we seem to think money is the only proper thing to give, but there’s so much more to it. Building community is really about building relationships. Hop on over to find out other ways we can share and give.
- Lady Locust
We live about 25 miles from the closest grocery store in the beautiful mountains of Oregon. We strive to provided a good majority of our food for ourselves &/or find it locally while at the same time eating what we consider to be the healthiest diet and creating as little refuse/garbage as possible (down to about 6 bags per year.) It takes great balance to juggle all these balls at once, and at times we are more successful than others. C'mon along; we enjoy the company.
