I often joke that I think I could be famous for my berry syrups. Fresh or frozen berries and a few simple ingredients you probably already have in your pantry can make a pancake breakfast something really special! We enjoy it on french toast. But it would also make a great topping for pound cake or ice cream. One friend told me she found another great way to enjoy it…on a spoon, right out of the jar. 🙂

My husband and I bought our piece of land at the end of 2011, moved on to it in April 2012 and we have never looked back. In fact, we love being in our pasture so much, we have decided that we suffer from Pasture Deficit Disorder anytime we are away from it! We have dogs and cats and our first farm animals were chickens and ducks. We recently added our first cows - Texas Longhorns, of course. We are learning to do as much for our ourselves as we can and raise as much of our own food as we can. That also means learning to preserve food. It's an amazing, rewarding lifestyle, a lot of hard work, and now that we are here, we could not live any other way.
