I am typically a coffee drinker but sometimes a girl needs a nice cup of hot cocoa. Today was definitely one of those days. I’m sitting here at my kitchen table watching the leaves fall and blow around while sipping my hot chocolate. It is a nice and rare moment of relaxation around here. We have been so busy every weekend for the past two months getting ready for Gertie and working on the barn and stanchion. This is the first Saturday I haven’t had anything (outside of the usual farm chores) to do. Farmer Derek on the other hand is not here to enjoy this hot chocolate with me. He is out butchering hogs with some friends. This is great practice for when it is time to butcher our pigs in a couple of months…
