One of the most rewarding aspects of running a farm is being able to enjoy fresh picked vegetables on a daily basis. Pretty much every meal we eat is based around what is currently being harvested which is seasonal eating at its finest. Seasonal eating means that you are eating foods at the time of the year that they are being grown or when they are “in-season”.
Our tomato plants have been growing in the greenhouse since the spring so they are ready to harvest much earlier this year than in previous seasons. Since the hot peppers and green peppers are ready as well, the obvious choice was to make salsa! This was the first batch of salsa I made this year but I plan on making a ton throughout the season.
