Admit it, you’ve always had a morbid fascination for plants that are carnivorous! Coincidentally so have I! All musical man-eating plants aside, carnivorous plants are a fascinating and diverse group that can be fun, exciting, and sometimes challenging to grow. I can remember, as a young elementary school student our class doing a project on Venus Fly Traps, and indeed it seems like that is a still a popular project to do. Mine never lived of course, I don’t think of any ours did but it was still an exciting adventure.
This blog is dedicated to documenting the trials and tribulations of having a completely indoor garden in a loft in the city. There are many articles, videos, and sites with ideas for cute little indoor gardens or ways for apartment dwellers to participate in the urban farming movement, but many of these ideas are not actually practical or sustainable over any period of time. This blog seeks to cut through the clutter of information, ideas, and products and figure out what is practical, what actually produces food, and other ways that an apartment dweller can participate in gardening and farming without any land at all. (Seriously we don’t even have a balcony) I hope you will join me on this journey and become an active participant in finding new ways that will allow us all to become just a little more sustainable.
