While the Sugar Maple Tree isn’t exactly a herb, its sweet syrup is a staple feature of every New England spring. Maple trees can be planted on your property, but often you’ll find them already in abundance in wooded areas. Tapping and processing their sap will give you fresh, home made maple syrup.

I grew up on a small farm and spent my youth riding horses competitively and gnawing on fresh vegetables from our garden. I moved away, went to college and spent time working in customer service, but the taste of fresh vegetables is kind of addicting. Our small farm has expanding gardens, a small flock of chickens, two geese, and is growing every season.
