I grew up on a farm in Western New York. Our family kept beef cattle, pigs, chickens, ducks, and horses. Moving away and making a new life with my husband in Illinois has been a great experience, but I've always wanted to return to the farm life. Homesteading on one acre has been a wonderful way of getting back to my roots. I still hope to one day return to my home town and become more self sufficient.
