If you’re living in an urban area with small yard, it might be a challenge to grow a lot of your own food or raise your own animals. It might even feel a little like you’ll never be able to be more self-sufficient. You might believe that you’ll never be able to be less of a consumer and more of a producer.
That’s certainly how we felt this past year. To combat this sagging feeling, Gordon decided that we needed to do something now, to do our part to not add to the food waste problem, but produce something useful from our food scraps. He wanted to start composting – in our kitchen! He did the research and found a kitchen composter – one that is now producing compost we can use in our garden within weeks!
