My garden has finally starting bursting with color. It seems like we had such a long winter here in zone 6a New England with the late freeze that hit. Everything seems to have bounced back and has begun to bloom. So excited to see the return of some of my favorite perennials. The peonies are almost ready to start flowering. The poppies have really taken off, and my phlox continue to add color to the shade garden. I’ve added some of my favorite annuals. Cosmos, snap dragons and petunias are all putting on a show. Annuals fill my container gardens along with some vines. My honeysuckle and Bougainvillea are catching the attention of the hummingbirds. A house finch has made a nice little nest in my bird house. My vegetable garden is off to a wonderful start with peas, greens and sprouting seeds. The strawberry patch is filled with blooms and I’m hoping to start picking some in June. The herbs and companion plants are all doing well, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the season has in store!
