Mixed berry jam is perfect for this time of year. The strawberries are just wrapping up for the season, the raspberries are abundant, and we’re starting to see some blueberries on the low bushes. None have appeared on the high bushes, but they’ll be here before we know it. This is the recipe I make, but feel free to change up the berry ratios for what happens to be available in your neck of the woods.

They said I couldn't do it. My property is too small. There are too many land restrictions living in town. I have trouble sewing in a straight line and I set off the smoke detector when I boil water. Well you know what? I'm figuring it out. I currently have a flock of ducks, quail, and chickens, as well as four Nigerian Dwarf goats. Between our livestock and our gardens (over half our 1/4 acre is edibles), we produce most of our food. I may not be the poster child of a domestic goddess, but I am definitely a homesteader. Find out how I overcome challenges. I believe that everyone can be a homesteader, no matter where they live. Visit me at The 104 Homestead
