I have been searching for years for an old fashion apple crumb pie that tasted like what I remember my Grandmother making, and I have finally found one!
A few months back I received a request to review the 65th Edition Mennonite Community Cookbook and since then I have been trying recipe after recipe. Some I won’t make again, but most of them are a big hit. I enjoy cooking and baking from ingredients I always have in my pantry and this cookbook is full of old fashion recipes just like your Grandmother would make. No store bought pre-packaged ingredients… just wholesome made from scratch recipes.
I used Granny Smith apples in my pie and tartness was a perfect combination to the sweet crumb topping.
This will be a recipe you save and use over and over again!
