The three days before hatch day are typically known as “lockdown” – the time you stop turning your eggs to help the unhatched chicks orient themselves for hatching, and also to help raise the humidity in the incubator to the appropriate level for a successful hatch. Because there is important stuff going on in there, we are told to not open the incubator after this lockdown time has started.
But what if you have to? What if something happens? What if you need to deal with a situation inside the incubator? Will opening the incubator really ruin your hatch?
