A few years ago I happen to see the movie Temple Grandin and was fascinated by the life of this inspiring woman. Much of her work is driven by the desire to see animals treated well at every stage of life. The importance of this mirrored our own beliefs; showing respect and ensuring that animals be treated well during their stay with us. We added cattle to our homestead about four years ago and have found it a worthwhile endeavor.
Getting started with beef cattle doesn’t need to feel overwhelming or impossible. There are a few key elements to consider and can even be done with a relatively small parcel of land. Taking time to consider a few key factors can go a long way to success.
