We recently had our very first home butchering experience. We had a rooster that was intended for the dinner table, and the time had come. It was a day full of a broad spectrum of emotions – excitement, sadness, gratitude, respect, and a sense of pride and accomplishment. One of the most interesting parts of the experience was including our young children.
