Studying medicinal herbs is a great way to connect with nature and grow your knowledge of natural health and wellness practices. Medicinal herbs have been utilized for human (and pet) health and wellness for centuries. Specific plant properties have the power to heal bodily functions, strengthen vital systems within the body, and promote well-being for the mind and spirit. It is my belief that a greater appreciation for these plants and their helpful traits can lead to a healthier life. And that is something we can all be grateful to find.

My name is Samantha and I love to plant things! Trees, vegetables, flowers, and quite possibly my most loved…herbs. I am a former social worker in pursuit of off-grid homesteading—full-time! Since entering college I’ve found my heart being pulled toward environmental issues. For that, my favorite holiday (and half birthday) is Earth Day! My goal is to live making minimal negative impact on Mother Earth. And there are always more ways to do that, better and better! I started gardening five years ago, and my favorite place to be on Saturday mornings is the Farmer’s Market. Whenever I can be, I am outside. Mornings on the porch with some coffee or herbal tea are the best ways to start the day. Yet, I love to spend my “indoor” time on crafts, yoga, cooking, reading about and studying herbs, and spending time with my family. Everything here is definitely a work in progress, but I’m enjoying every step! I enjoy connecting with people—especially those seeking out the same type of livelihood.
